He is a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the American Legion. He is admitted to practice law in Indiana and Florida. His professional memberships include the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Indianapolis Bar Association, where he formerly served as Chair of the executive committee of the Criminal Justice Section . He has also been a speaker for continuing legal education programs presented by the Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum and the Indianapolis Bar Association, teaching in the areas of Search and Seizure and Traffic Law.
